 About Working KnowledgeCSPAs an independent knowledge management consulting services company, Working KnowledgeCSP provides trusted, context based advisory services, solutions coaching and guidance to both industry and government in gaining value from knowledge. Working KnowledgeCSP has, as part of its KM services and solutions portfolio, specialized practice and deep expertise in working directly with government leaders and their workforce in applying knowledge management concepts, strategies and implementing practices in federal acquisition organizations where necessary focus is required to solve complex program management, IT and organization performance challenges through an improved ability to leverage the critical and relevant knowledge they possess. Working KnowledgeCSP is a service disabled veteran owned small business (SDVOSB) established in 2009. In 2010 we earned Center for Veteran Enterprise (CVE) recognition from the Department of Veterans Affairs. Also in 2010, we graduated from the Veteran Institute for Procurement, a certification program for veteran owned businesses establishing best business practices. About the Founder  Bill Kaplan, the founder, is recognized as one of the early thought leaders in the application of Knowledge Management (KM) in the government sector, a long time practitioner in the private sector, and has been working and consulting in the leadership and practical application of KM to address business operations and workforce performance challenges since the 1990s. He is published on a recent book about mitigating the risks of knowledge loss due to workforce turnover (Losing Your Minds: Capturing, Retaining and Leveraging Organizational Knowledge) and many articles on knowledge management, including the application of knowledge management within federal acquisition, procurement, and program management organizations. In 2005, Acquisition Solutions, Inc. (ASI), a public sector only management consulting company with multi-disciplinary practices including federal acquisition and procurement, program management, knowledge management, and organizational performance, selected Bill as its first Chief Knowledge Officer and Knowledge Management Practice Manager. In this role, he was responsible for developing and evolving the company's knowledge management and quality management infrastructure and leading their KM consulting practice. Prior to that, Bill was the Deputy Knowledge Management Practice Manager at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). While Bill was the ASI CKO, in 2007 (rank #18), 2008 (rank #16), and 2009 (rank #13), the Know Network (Teleos) recognized the ASI KM team’s efforts by naming Acquisition Solutions a North American Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) finalist. Bill completed a distinguished career in federal acquisition and program management in the United States Air Force and the Department of Defense, retiring in the rank of Colonel. During his military career he served in both service and joint acquisition leadership positions. During his military career he earned numerous personal, unit awards and service medals including the Defense Superior Service Medal and the Legion of Merit Medal.
